Shaw Alumni and History Corner The Shaw Alumni and History Corner, located in the SHS Media Center, was established to answer a need: to inform students, faculty, parents, and the community of the life of Dr. William Henry Shaw, Superintendent of Muscogee County School District from 1945-73. Memorabilia from his career in education, along with materials that reflect the history of Shaw High School, Columbus, and the surrounding area are housed in “the corner.” This is a resource that is available to those who wish to research the life and career of Dr. Shaw, the history of the school that is named in his honor, and the region in which we live. The Media Center accepts donations for the corner, and it is the intent of the Media Center staff that this will serve as an archive for use now and in the future. |
